Construction Updates
Coastal Virginia Offshore Wind (CVOW)
Fifteen (15) monopiles have been installed by the ORION as of July 9.
Unexploded Ordinance (UXO) relocation is ongoing along the export cable corridor. HOS BAYOU and HOS MYSTIQUE are on scene.
SEA CHALLENGER installation vessel is on scene as Protected Species Observer (PSO) platform.
Rock installation vessel, FLINTSTONE is on-scene performing post-installation foundation scour protection.
Installations for Direct Pipe conduit installations are planned to continue through July with a scheduled completion in August 2024.
Revolution Wind
Twenty-four (24) turbine foundations have been installed as of July 16.
Twenty-two (22) foundations have secondary steel components installed as of July 16.
First wind turbine generators/nacelles have arrived at New London State Pier.
The BOKALIFT 2 is installing monopile foundations while the BOKALIFT 1 installs secondary steel at existing foundations.
SHELIA BORDELON is performing boulder clearance along cable export route.
WIND SCYLLA wind turbine installation vessel (WTIV) is enroute to New London, CT. Estimated time of arrival (ETA) July 22.
Secondary steel components are being loaded at Prov Port.
South Fork Wind
Wind turbine installation is complete and the project is in final stages of construction.
PAUL CANDIES is performing wind turbine commissioning.
Vineyard Wind
Twenty-three (23) out of sixty-two (62) complete wind turbines have been installed as of July 9.
Forty-seven (47) out of sixty-two (62) monopiles have been installed as of July 9.
Forty-seven (47) out of sixty-two (62) transition pieces have been installed as of July 9.
The SEA CHALLENGER is on scene installing transition pieces.
The trenching support vessel (TSV) SYMPHONY is on scene performing post cable burial for the Vineyard Wind inter-array cable.
The cable installation vessel (CSV) CONNECTOR is on scene performing inter-array cable installation.

Dominion Energy agreed to buy undeveloped Kitty Hawk North Wind lease area off the coast of North Carolina from Avangrid Renewables for US$ 160 million.
On June 28, 2024, BOEM announced the Final Sale Notice (FSN) for offshore wind leasing on the Outer Continental Shelf (OCS) in the U.S. Central Atlantic. The FSN sets the auction for August 14, 2024.
The first Maersk WTIV is currently under construction in Singapore at Seatrium. The vessel is expected to be delivered in mid-2025 for the installation of Empire Wind 1.
Construction of South Brooklyn Marine Terminal (SBMT) is underway. SBMT will serve as a staging and pre-assembly site during construction of Empire Wind 1 and later as a long-term Operations & Maintenance Base.
Orsted received approval of its Construction and Operations Plan (COP) for Sunrise Wind from the U.S. Department of the Interior's Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM).
Avangrid received approval of COP for New England Wind 1 and 2 from BOEM.
Atlantic Shores Offshore Wind received Record of Decision (ROD) from the BOEM for Atlantic Shores Project 1 and 2.
Atlantic Shores Offshore Wind and Attentive Energy submitted proposals to New Jersey’s fourth offshore wind solicitation.
